Catholic Mobilizing Network Publishes Resource Guide for Jubilee of Prisoners to Foster Hope and Dignity

Vatican City, 12 December 2025: In preparation for the Jubilee of Prisoners on 14 December 2025, the Catholic Mobilizing Network (CMN), in collaboration with Catholic ministry leaders and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), has published a resource guide titled Pilgrims on the Way of Hope: A Resource for the Jubilee of Prisoners. The publication is intended to support parishes, prison ministries, and faithful in observing this special Jubilee focus within the broader Jubilee Year 2025.

The resource guide offers liturgical materials, reflections, prayers, and pastoral suggestions to help Catholics engage meaningfully with incarcerated individuals and those affected by the criminal justice system. It emphasises that hope and dignity must be upheld for all, including people in detention, and that the Jubilee presents an opportunity for the Church to accompany them in faith and prayer.

The Jubilee of Prisoners is part of Jubilee 2025, a year-long celebration inaugurated on Christmas Eve 2024 with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” It invites Catholics worldwide to reflect on mercy, forgiveness, and restorative justice, encouraging concrete acts of compassion and solidarity with those who are marginalised or suffering within penal systems.

The CMN publication aligns with the Church’s call to recognize the inherent dignity of every person and to promote pastoral care that supports healing, reintegration, and hope for the future.
