Adilabad Diocese Youth Fest Inspires Faith and Leadership Among 300 Young Participants

Adilabad, Telangana, April 17, 2026: Nearly 300 young people from across the Diocese of Adilabad came together for a four-day Youth Fest at Ephatha, Rebbara, in an initiative aimed at deepening faith and nurturing leadership among the Church’s younger members.

Organised under the guidance of Bishop Joseph Thachaparambath CMI of Adilabad dioceses, the programme reflected a focused pastoral effort to engage youth in meaningful formation through dialogue, reflection, and community-building. The event was coordinated by Fr Jijo, the diocesan Youth Director, with support from the Telangana Catholic Bishops’ Conference (TCBC) Youth Commission and regional collaborators, including Bishop Rayarala Vijaya Kumar of Srikakulam dioceses and Fr. Medi Sleevaraj SDB.

Designed as a holistic formation experience, the fest addressed the spiritual, emotional, social, and leadership dimensions of young people’s lives. Participants were grouped into smaller teams, encouraging active interaction, shared learning, and the development of communication and leadership skills. Through role plays, group discussions, and interactive activities, the sessions fostered both engagement and reflection.

A key highlight of the programme was a series of intensive sessions led by Fr Medi Sleevaraj SDB, who combined personal reflection with group dynamics to help participants recognise their potential and responsibilities within the Church and society. His sessions were widely appreciated for their practical insights and motivational approach.

Throughout the fest, emphasis remained on strengthening faith, values, and a sense of purpose among the youth. The gathering provided a platform for participants to step beyond their comfort zones, build meaningful relationships, and deepen their sense of belonging to the Church community.

The event concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Bishop Rayarala Vijaya Kumar of Srikakulam dioceses. In his homily, he reflected on God’s personal call in each individual’s life, urging the young faithful to remain rooted in faith and respond generously to God’s love and compassion.

A certificate distribution ceremony followed, with Bishop Joseph Thachaparambath, CMI personally acknowledging the commitment and participation of the attendees. The gesture underscored the Church’s encouragement of young people in their journey of faith and service.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Fr Jijo, who expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event.

The Youth Fest at Ephatha, Rebbara, stands out as a significant diocesan initiative, fostering unity, responsibility, and renewed faith among the youth, while equipping them to take on active roles in the life of the Church and society.
