Life is a Blessing: Communio Supports 4th India's March for Life Held in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, CCBI Secretariat ,9 August 2025:The 4th India’s March for Life was held on 9 August 2025 at St. Francis Xavier’s Cathedral, Bengaluru, organized by the Family Welfare Centre of the Archdiocese of Bangalore. The event was a vibrant witness to the dignity of every human life and a united call for the protection of the unborn.

Sr Margarita Dias SCB, Associate Director for Communio Trainings and Programs at the CCBI Secretariat, Bengaluru, participated in the march, representing the Secretariat in this important national witness. Her presence was a living testimony that life is indeed a blessing.

During the day, Sr Margarita met Archbishop Francis Kallist, Bishop of Pondicherry, as well as Auxiliary Bishops of Bangalore, Most Rev. Sathish and Most Rev. Susainathan. She also interacted with numerous youth, children, and faithful from across India, and connected with members of various pro-life movements, including Eva Prolife, Missionary Families of Christ Movement, and Jesus Youth. Many who knew her from the religious field—both near and far—along with youth and other participants, congratulated her on her appointment to the CCBI and affirmed the mission she is carrying out among the young hearts of the Church.

The theme, “Every Life is a Present, Precious, and Has a Purpose,” resonated deeply with the participants. The program began with an exhibition at 8:30 am, followed by the Holy Eucharist at 9:30 am. At 11:00 am, a public gathering brought together Church leaders, pro-life advocates, and lay faithful to share testimonies and messages of hope. The highlight came at noon, when the March for Life took place — a spirited walk around the Cathedral with participants carrying placards and raising slogans in support of the unborn.

Communio’s presence was strongly felt through the active participation and witness of Sr Margarita Dias SCB, whose involvement reflected the Church’s commitment to nurturing a culture of life among the faithful, especially the youth.

This year’s March for Life was a profound reminder of the Christian mission to be a voice for the voiceless and to advocate for life at all stages, from conception to natural death.
