The Money Recovered
Then Tobias called Raphael and said to him,
“Brother Azarias, take four servants and two camels with you and go to Media. Present yourself to Gabael, give him the receipt, take possession of the silver, and bring him back with you to the wedding feast.
For you know that my father is counting the days, and if I delay even one day I will cause him much grief. And you see what Raguel has sworn, and I cannot transgress his oath.”
So Raphael made the journey to Rages in Media along with the four servants and the two camels, and they stayed overnight with Gabael. He gave him his receipt, and told him about Tobit’s son Tobias, that he had taken a wife and that he was inviting Gabael1 to the wedding feast. Gabael1 arose and counted out the money bags with their seals intact and they agreed that all was in order.
They both rose early in the morning and went to the wedding feast. They entered Raguel’s home and found Tobias reclining at table. He got up and greeted him, and Gabael wept and blessed him and said to him, “Noble and good seed of a noble and good man, a just and mercy-working man! May the Lord give you and your wife and your father and your wife’s mother blessing from heaven! Blessed is God, for I see in Tobias the very likeness of my cousin Tobit!”
