Jabalpur, M.P, February 03, 2025 – St. Aloysius College (Autonomous), Jabalpur, hosted the release ceremony of "A Spiritual Oasis: Daily Reflections," a thought-provoking book by Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Davis George, on January 26, 2025. The event, held on the college premises, was graced by distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Most Rev. Dr. G. Vazhan Arasu, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Jabalpur. The ceremony featured insightful addresses, reflections on spirituality, and a formal unveiling of the book, which offers daily reflections that inspire, realign, and deepen one’s connection with the self and the divine.
The event commenced with a solemn prayer song performed by faculty members, setting a reverent tone for the gathering. Most Rev. Bishop Dr. G. Vazhan Arasu unveiled the book and, in his keynote address, described it “as a reservoir of wisdom.”. He urged readers to engage with the book’s reflections consciously and introspectively. He emphasised that the book does not merely offer solace but also facilitates profound self-transformation through mindfulness and spiritual practice.
Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Davis George, the author of the book, shared his journey behind creating the book and also emphasized the book’s relevance in today’s fast-paced world. “I urge readers of my book to embrace life’s challenges with equanimity, cultivate mindfulness, and transcend the distractions of external validation,” he said. Rev. Dr. George also emphasised the transformative power of relationships, compassion, and service and encouraged individuals to align their lives with these virtues.
College Principal Rev. Fr. (Dr.) J. Ben Anton Rose congratulated Dr. George on the release of his book, describing it as “a transformative pilgrimage of the self.” “A Spiritual Oasis is more than just a book—it is a guide for contemporary seekers and stands as a lasting legacy for future generations, reflecting the timeless interplay of thought and spirituality,” he said.

The event was meticulously coordinated by Dr. Neelanjana Pathak, Head of the Department of English, while Dr. Niharika Singh anchored the proceedings. Dr. Soma Guha Das delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of Mr. Viraj Singh, Ms. Teesha Deore, and Ms. Aarish Ansari in ensuring the smooth execution of the event.
As the ceremony concluded, attendees departed with a renewed sense of introspection and inspiration, appreciating Rev. Dr. Davis George’s invaluable contribution to spiritual literature.
