Opposition Walks Out of Lok Sabha Over Alleged Attack on Catholic Priests in Jabalpur

New Delhi, 3 April, 2025 – Opposition members, led by the Congress, staged a walkout from the Lok Sabha on Thursday, protesting against the alleged attack on Catholic priests in Jabalpur.  

As soon as the House convened for the day, Opposition leaders attempted to raise the issue, with several members standing in the aisle and shouting slogans. They demanded a discussion on the alleged incident, urging the government to address their concerns.  

However, Speaker Om Birla declined their request, prompting the Opposition to walk out in protest after continued sloganeering.  

The walkout underscores rising tensions over the treatment of religious minorities, with the Opposition accusing the government of ignoring the issue.
