NCYM Hosts Three-Day Leadership Meet for Youth Leaders in Nagaland

Kohima, February 9, 2025 – The Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) successfully organized the Three-Day NCYM Leaders Meet 2025 at Mt. Tabor Retreat House, Kohima, from January 31 to February 2. The gathering brought together youth leaders from various parishes, centers, and affiliated tribal units under the theme "Meet, Greet, and Inspire: A Leadership Gathering."


Renowned resource persons guided the participants through sessions on Catholic faith, the Church's rich history and traditions, leadership principles, and navigating life as Catholic youth. The event also provided an overview of NCYM and its affiliated units' roles. Inspirational life testimonials further enriched the discussions, offering personal insights into faith and leadership.


Participants engaged in group discussions and presentations, addressing challenges faced by youth in their respective parishes and centers. They explored practical solutions to overcome adversities and strengthen their communities.


The NCYM Central Executive Committee held in-depth discussions on key issues affecting youth at the diocesan and parish levels. Representatives from 28 parishes/centers and two tribal units—the Zeliangrong Catholic Youth Association Nagaland and the Lotha Catholic Youth Association—presented reports on their activities.


Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Charalel, Chancellor of the Diocese of Kohima, and Rev. Fr. Gwatilo Alex Tep, Bishop's Secretary, served as the main celebrants for the NCYM Leaders Meet.

A total of 63 youth leaders from various parishes and three tribal units—the Zeliangrong Catholic Youth Association Nagaland, Lotha Catholic Youth Association, and Angami Catholic Youth Association—actively participated in the leadership meet.


NCYM extended its heartfelt gratitude to the participants for their enthusiasm and engagement, as well as to the resource persons for sharing their invaluable insights. The movement reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Catholic youth leadership for the Greater Glory of God.
