Morning Star Seminary Prepares Future Priests for the Digital Age

Barrackpore, September 19, 2024: Fourth-year theology students at Morning Star Institute of Theology, Barrackpore, participated in a four-day course on Pastoral Social Communications (PSC) from September 16 to 19. Led by Fr. Sudeep Paul, Director of Sandesha Foundation, Mangalore, the program focused on equipping future priests with essential communication skills for effective ministry in today’s digital world.

The course explored the unique aspects of PSC, distinguishing it from general communication, and provided in-depth guidance on key Church documents. It also offered practical training in creative writing, media production, social media strategies, and the ethical implications of new technologies like AI. The seminarians applied their skills in a collaborative project, producing an e-magazine, podcasts, a short documentary on Morning Star Seminary and social media content.

Fr. Henry Jose, Director of Theology, underscored the importance of the course, stating, "Communication is at the heart of evangelization. Mastering these skills is vital for future priests to effectively share the Word of God."
