Fr. Ajith B. Menezes Named Associate Director, St. John’s Medical College & Research Institute

New Delhi, 1 June, 2025 – Fr. Ajith B Menezes has been appointed Associate Director of St. John’s Medical College and St. John’s Research Institute, both integral parts of the St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences in Bengaluru. The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) Standing Committee confirmed the appointment during its 149th meeting.


A native of Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada, Fr. Menezes belongs to the Diocese of Mangaluru. Born in 1979, he brings a strong academic and professional background to his new role. He holds a diploma in civil engineering, a master’s degree in human resources development, and an MBA with a specialisation in healthcare management.


Fr. Menezes has held several key administrative positions in prominent institutions over the years. He served as Assistant Director and later as Director In-charge at St. Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor. His experience in healthcare administration includes roles as Assistant Administrator and Administrator at Father Muller Medical College Hospital. He also served as Administrator of both the Father Muller College of Allied Health Sciences and the Father Muller College of Physiotherapy.


Known for his leadership and organisational acumen, Fr. Menezes is expected to bring valuable insight and direction to his new role at St. John’s, a prestigious institution recognised nationally for its contributions to medical education and research.


His appointment is seen as a significant step in strengthening the academic and administrative framework of the institution, aligning with its mission to provide excellence in medical education, research, and healthcare delivery.
