CRI Allahabad Meet Emphasises Renewed Evangelical Zeal and Pilgrimage of Hope

Allahabad, 10 March 2025: The Conference of Religious India (CRI) Allahabad Unit held its annual meeting at Nazareth Hospital, Prayagraj, with over 115 religious men and women in attendance on March 9. The gathering aimed to revitalise the evangelical spirit and promote a pilgrimage of hope among religious communities.


The Holy Eucharist was presided over by Most Rev. Louis Mascarenhas, Bishop of Allahabad, along with Rev. Fr. Vipin D'Souza and other priests. In his keynote address, Bishop Mascarenhas urged participants to embody the light of Christ by practicing evangelical virtues in their daily lives.


Rev. Fr. Jerome Paul, a professor at St. Joseph's Regional Seminary, led two sessions on the theme "Religious as Pilgrims of Hope in Today's Context." He encouraged participants to rekindle their passion for their vocation and respond to contemporary challenges with faith, courage, and commitment.


A key highlight of the meeting was the election of new office bearers for the Allahabad Unit of CRI. The newly elected members are:


President: Sr. Regi UMI

Secretary: Sr. Roshni CSN

Treasurer: Br. Vikram Kullu CMSF

Councillors: Fr. Jyotilal IMS, Sr. Lincy UMI, and Sr. Shiji FDCC

Outgoing president Sr. Sumita Pinto CJ ensured the smooth conduct of the meeting. The gathering reaffirmed its commitment to evangelisation, service, and fostering unity among religious communities in the region.


The CRI Allahabad Unit remains dedicated to promoting a pilgrimage of hope and renewed evangelical zeal among religious communities.
