Bhopal Archdiocese Recognizes Women’s Role in Church and Society at Annual Gathering

Bhopal, January 21, 2025: The Archdiocese of Bhopal hosted its annual gathering for Catholic Christian women on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Ashaniketan Campus. The event saw a significant turnout of women from across the region, who gathered to celebrate faith, fellowship, and empowerment.


The program featured a keynote address by Father Jomi Panithus, Dean of BSSS-IAS, who highlighted the essential role women play in the Church, family, and society. This was followed by an engaging session of games and entertainment, with participants demonstrating enthusiasm and team spirit.


Archbishop Dr. A. A. S. Durairaj SVD, the chief guest of the event, led the congregation in a celebrated Holy Mass. In his sermon, he praised the women for their invaluable contributions and encouraged them to continue their progress in every aspect of life.

The event concluded with a recognition ceremony where Archbishop Durairaj and V.G. Fr. Ishwardas Minj presented awards to winners of recent competitions, including singing, Bible Quiz, and writing contests.


Father Alfred D’Souza, the Public Relations Officer of the Archdiocese, emphasized that the Catholic Women's Commission is committed to empowering women by providing platforms for them to showcase their talents and abilities. Through regular programs, the Commission continues to create opportunities for growth and recognition.
