A Sacred Gathering: St. Rita’s Church, Kunigal, Tumakuru, Honors Our Lady of Lourdes

Kunigal, February 13, 2025 – The faithful of St. Rita’s Church, Kunigal, gathered in joyous devotion to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes on February 11. The celebration, held at the Lourdes Convent of the SMMI Sisters, brought together around 120 parishioners for a day of prayer, worship, and fellowship.

The feast day observance began with Adoration and the recitation of the Holy Rosary, setting a reverent tone for the solemn ococcasion. The Holy Mass was presided over by Fr. Michael Menezes, SMM and concelebrated by Fr. Baptist Pias, SVD; Fr. Maria Anand, SDB; Fr. Uday, SDB and Fr. Santhosh Fernandes, Holy Cross.

A special moment of grace filled the gathering as the priests led an anointing session, blessing all those in attendance. Following the Mass, the community came together for a fellowship meal, sharing in the joy of the feast and strengthening their bonds as one family in faith. The celebration truly embodied the spirit of Lourdes, reminding everyone of the power of prayer, healing, and togetherness.
