KRCR Assembly Inaugurated at Christ University, Bangalore

Bangalore, July 19, 2025: The 27th Assembly of the Karnataka Regional Conference of Religious (KRCR) was inaugurated on July 18 at the DVK Annexe of Christ University in Bangalore. The inauguration ceremony of the event brought together major superiors of religious congregations and representatives of the Conference of Religious India (CRI) units from all dioceses of Karnataka.

Held under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope: Moving Forward in Synodality”, the three-day assembly seeks to promote dialogue, unity, and spiritual renewal among religious communities in the region.

The event commenced with the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Abp. Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bangalore.

In his homily, Archbishop Machado urged the religious to embody compassion and mercy. He also stated that society places great hope in the Conference of Religious India (CRI) due to its impactful work in education and healthcare.

Fr. Saju CMI, National CRI President, delivered the keynote address, drawing inspiration from the teachings of Pope Leo and the encyclical Delixit Nos (He Loved Us) by the late Pope Francis. He urged all the religious present to remain faithful to their mission while embracing the spirit of synodality.

The event marked the beginning of a three-day gathering that will serve as a platform for learning, collaboration, and renewed commitment among religious congregations serving in Karnataka.
